Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1970. Dickey, James "Deliverance." Near-fine first printing of Dickey's wilderness classic in nearly-same dust jacket. The novel would be the basis for the John Boorman film starring Burt Reynolds, cowritten by Dickey and featuring a cameo by the author. Off white cloth over boards bearing the title stamped in green to the front. Slight rightward tilt to the binding, mild toning from handling on the lower extremities. Little bit of foxing -- dust jacket is protected in mylar sleeve with slight fraying and edgewear throughout. 278 pp
